Industry 4.0
Manufacturing production using intelligent techniques, big data, and internet of things approaches to increase performance costs reduction.
Industry 4.0 is a current trend in manufacturing production to use artificial intelligence, machine learning techniques (cognitive computation) and data science methods to exploit huge quantities of historical data (big data) gathered in the manufacturing industry, through many sensors and signals (internet of things), which unveils interesting knowledge patterns that can be reused to provide intelligent decision support and optimization of several manufacturing tasks, like intelligent set-up of manufacturing machines for different products, intelligent maintenance strategies to avoid machine breaks, intelligent prevention systems to detect early defects and production failures or customizable recommender systems for production planning.
