StarwAI project launches the first Open Call for SMEs to boost their products and services using AI

StairwAI has launched its first Open Call for SMEs that do not have immediate access or knowledge on AI techniques, with the aim to improve their processes, services, or value chains.

StairwAI is  an European Union Funded project helping SMEs digitalize by allowing them access to Artificial Intelligence. A group of IDEAI-UPC researchers, coordinated by Dr. Javier Vázquez-Salceda, lead the participation of UPC in this project as partner of the StairwAI consortium.

StairwAI has launched its first Open Call for SMEs that do not have immediate access or knowledge on AI techniques, with the aim to improve their processes, services, or value chains.

Some of many use case examples for AI solutions include:

  • using AI image processing to check products for overall quality and/or specific defects
  • using AI to diagnose or anticipate anomalous behavior on industrial components
  • using AI to support planning activities (e.g. production planning or supply chain management)
  • using AI to obtain real-time estimates of physical quantities that can only be sporadically measured (e.g. obtained via chemical analysis)
  • using AI to estimate and then optimize production yield

StairwAI’s Open Call offers the following benefits to Low Tech SMEs:

  • 60K Euros, which includes 26K Euros lump sum, 10K Euros in a voucher to access computing resources and 24k Euros in a voucher to access AI experts mentorship.
